We had a bit of a shop on the weekend and I bought a backpack (Osprey Aether 70L) and a down jacket (Berghaus Blast) so I spent a bit of money. Next weekend Mountain Designs is having a 25% off storewide sale so no doubt I will be buying more stuff next week, I’ll try get my boots, a waterproof jacket (I’m liking the 3 layer softshell ones), waterproof pants and maybe some cooking pots. I might also add to that the sleeping bag, I found one yesterday that is a fair bit cheaper than the one I was looking at but not all that different, with a liner it will probably be even warmer, I can’t remember the model but it must be the Mont Spindrift. Mont is an [tag]Australian[/tag] brand and they seem to be the best quality we can easily get here, they are almost on par with Marmot. I’d love to get a Marmot bag but they are very exspensive and I feel better buying Australian. Actually they aren’t overly expensive and the down quality is a little better, it’s shipping it over here that puts it out of reach.

I’m quite concerned about getting the right boots so I’m just asking on the [tag]Thorn Tree[/tag] what people think of the ones I’m looking at and if they are suited to what I’ll be using them for.
