Like Maps\Geography?
Here is a site I found some time ago and I was reminded of the other day by a similar post on another travel blog.
Views of the Earth provides high resolution renderings of continents, mountain ranges and other interesting features of the earth and they make for great [tag]desktop[/tag] [tag]wallpaper[/tag]s. But the godfather on the site is the 5 GIGApixel image of western [tag]North America[/tag]. Amazing site.
I’m a bit of a [tag]map[/tag] fan, I don’t know why but I have a few hanging from the walls in our spare room, great for marking places I want to travel to. I’m now looking for a good quality [tag]Atlas[/tag] so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know.

Now this is a cool site! Large pictures as a desktop background have always been my favorite. While I’ve used Google pictures before, i had never seen this site. My only wish was that these pictures could be downloaded at a larger resolution.
