Kashmir, India - Conflict in Paradise
I don’t know much about Kashmir other than it is stunningly beautiful and the object of a dispute between Pakistan and India since 1947. I hear it becoming safer and tourists are returning. Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh are two places I have been interested in travelling to but Arunachal requires a Restricted area permit and that you be travelling in a group of at least four people. So far I’ve found no such restrictions on travel in Kashmir.

I’d never have thought about visiting Kashmir, I hope that you can make it happen on your trip! I’ll be interested to see how it works out. Just a thought, if you want to find a group of people to travel into those restricted areas with, I know that Dave’s had good luck with TravBuddy for finding people to travel with when needed.

I’ve signed up to Travbuddy through facebook, hopefully I’ll be able to make use of it. I’m really hoping that I’ll cross paths with Dave in SEA, before the Tibet riots it looked promising but he may have skipped ahead of me a bit now.
