I’m Out - Earth Bound
Still no contact from Eric. Everything seems to suggest that our attempts to contact him are being ignored rather than them not reaching him. As far as I am concerned Eric has abandoned the project without so much as a single word of his intention to do so. Personally I feel that some of the members deserve compensation but the way things have been handled so far I doubt that will happen very much, also apparently a number of sponsors may have handed over money, I sincerely hope that Eric has not cashed any cheques and there will be no monetary loss for them. Needless to say those of us involved are unhappy with Eric’s conduct. I think now even if he came out of the woodwork there would not be many still willing to work with him on this.
In other news this blog is now 1 year old, I’ve been terribly slack lately, tired and very busy at work but I’m hoping to up the number of posts back to at least weekly or better.

Dan -
Sorry to hear this project seems to have collapsed. I’m glad you’ve kept the blog going, and know you can make your RTW trip a reality if you stick with it!! (PS - this last month before leaving is so worth the long wait!)
Your telling me, I’m checking to see I’ve you’ve made any new posts endlessly. So close for you now.
It’s disappointing that this happened but it was always a possibility. I’m happy to be able to decide where and when I go to again now. I’m working on putting together more of a plan right now so there will be some posts soon.
It’s a real bummer that, Dan, and disappointing for you and everyone else concerned. It seemed a great project - I can’t understand why one of the organisers would want to distance themselves from what could have been a great scheme and one which wuold have undoubtedly been a success and one so rewarding for all involved.
Keep you eyes peeled as maybe someone else will pick up the peices in a similar project. Failing that, you know you will still have an awesome time when you head off on your own. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for any glimmer of salvation regarding the project anyways, but, as they say, this may just open different doors - ones to whole new experiences you wouldn’t otherwise have had. The fickle finger of fate prods its subjects once again!
Good luck!
